We partnered with King & Spalding to design and build its Abu Dhabi office, building on success in Dubai and Riyadh.

Situated in ADGM, this office refurbishment transforms its existing space into a high-performance workplace that balances business growth, cultural authenticity and premium design.

Expanding the vision

What began as a modest reconfiguration to accommodate growth quickly evolved when a lease extension opened up new possibilities. Seeing the potential, we led a co-creation workshop with the global law firm’s strategy team, which set the ambition to create a statement workplace. The result is an environment that maximises its prime location, elevates the client experience and reinforces the firm’s regional stature.

An elevated office experience

King & Spalding’s Abu Dhabi office is designed to make an impact. A refined blend of bold features and carefully curated materials reflects the firm’s prestige while setting the tone for the client experience.

The design, influenced by its surroundings, balances the natural and built environments. Curved forms reference the elegance of the Sheikh Zayed Mosque, while soft, earthy tones drawn from Abu Dhabi’s salt flats bring warmth and contrast. Geometric patterns add depth and ground the design in the local environment.

Balancing privacy with connectivity

Maximising its prime location, the design prioritises openness and natural light. Work settings and private offices sit along the perimeter, offering views of the Abu Dhabi skyline. The spatial planning ensures a balance between privacy and connectivity, while maintaining a strong connection to the city beyond.

Recognising the evolving nature of work, flexibility was embedded in the design. For example, meeting spaces can easily transition from intimate discussions to large-scale gatherings with dividable conference rooms featuring folding walls. Bespoke joinery on castors allows teams to reconfigure spaces as needed, supporting agility and collaboration in a fast-paced legal environment.

The completion of King & Spalding’s Abu Dhabi office marks another milestone in a decade-long relationship. This elevated workplace reflects sophistication, authenticity and adaptability, positioning the firm for continued regional success.
