We are proud to announce that two of our recent projects—UOB Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur and McDonald’s, Hong Kong—have been honoured with three AIA IR Awards. A testament to our multidisciplinary approach to delivering innovative and locally resonant spaces for our clients worldwide.

Group Managing Director, John Sellery, and Deputy Head of China, Karen Ng, received the accolades during the AIA IR conference ceremony held in Hong Kong. On the same stage, Chairman & Founder, Moira Moser, was invited to present the Firm Award 2024, recognising M Moser’s transformative influence since becoming the first recipient of this prestigious recognition in 2019.

A sustainable and inclusive landmark in Kuala Lumpur: UOB Malaysia HQ

Our work with UOB Malaysia on its new Kuala Lumpur office received a Merit Award for biophilia integration and an Inclusive Design Excellence Award. As the first banking HQ in Malaysia to be recognised for its extensive green credentials, this project sets a new benchmark for sustainable workplaces in the region.

The HQ incorporates biophilic elements such as vertical gardens, green walls, and optimised natural lighting to create a restorative and calming environment that supports physical and mental wellbeing. Designed with inclusivity in mind, the space offers accessible features and adaptable layouts, ensuring comfort and functionality for all users. The extensive use of natural materials, combined with energy-efficient systems, strengthens connection to nature.

UOB Kuala Lumpur wins two AIA IR Awards

We are impressed with the integration of biophilic design throughout the tower, at multiple levels. The quality of natural light is ‘spectacular’, and creates an environment which is a ‘light, bright place to work’. We commend the human-focused design aspects from accessible indoor-outdoor terraces to a full floor dedicated to childcare and workplace-integrated spaces for recreation, restoration and collaboration.
