Building on successful collaborations across EMEA, we’re excited to team up with Mastercard again—this time to design and build its new London office space.

Project overview

Mastercard’s growth presented a chance to rethink its London workplace offering. The new 11,000 sq ft expansion divides into two distinct zones:

  • A client-focused suite, to inspire trust and collaboration with guests.
  • An employee-centric workspace, offering new settings to support a variety of preferences.

“The hospitality-inspired design combines comfort and functionality. Lounge seating, warm lighting and branded elements establish an inviting atmosphere. In addition, collaborative areas encourage interaction in a relaxed setting,” says Richard Fisher, Associate Director.

The open-plan space for employees includes focus zones and features that support neurodiversity, fostering a productive environment for all.

Supporting Mastercard’s sustainability goals

Sustainability is central to our partnership with Mastercard. Therefore, as part of a strategy to achieve 90% green building certifications across its global offices, the new space is targeting a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating.

Sustainable design solutions

The project focuses on minimising environmental impact through mindful design choices:

  • Energy efficiency: LED lighting and sensors reduce energy consumption.
  • Material reuse: A pre-refurbishment audit identified reusable materials, including 1,600 sq m of carpet tiles, saving 14.4 metric tonnes of embodied CO2.
  • Waste reduction: 87% of construction debris was recycled. The remaining waste was converted to waste-to-energy. Consequently, we diverted 100% of waste from landfill.
  • Material selection: Carpets made from plastic bottles and car windows, alongside carbon-neutral flooring made from cocoa waste.
  • Water management: Efficient plumbing fixtures, similar to those saving 229,000 litres annually in Budapest, were implemented.
