livi Bank spearheaded the smart banking development in Hong Kong, one of the world’s most influential finance hubs. The virtual bank needed a space to reflect its energetic culture and mission to push the boundaries of personal finance. Connecting design, engineering and construction, we delivered a healthy, vibrant two-storey workplace that aligns with brand identity while inspiring next-gen digital solutions.
The workplace design centres around livi Bank’s mission to ‘go the extra mile’ for its customers, acknowledging its staff’s vital role in creating market-leading digital solutions. Putting people at the heart of the design, we created a variety of social spaces that address individual and community needs, establishing a workplace culture that values collaboration and meaningful engagement.
Health and wellness were two key components integrated into the design for a comfortable, healing office environment. Natural and graphically illustrated greenery, and ergonomic furniture including bicycle desks and massage chairs create space for calm reflection and active movement. Fronted by spectacular views of the Victoria Harbour and nearby mountains, communal areas and workstations are placed alongside wide windows.
The ‘Floating Island’ in the open office is a central point where staff can come together. Engraved with leaf patterns, moving screens enable flexible configurations conducive to open and private discussions. Decorated with greenery, social hubs can be reconfigured to fit diverse user and business needs. The front-of-house connects to the pantry to create larger meeting spaces for town hall meetings.
From the lobby corridor continuing through communal spaces and the open office, bespoke murals express livi Bank’s progressive and entrepreneurial values. Vivid representations of core colours and natural elements create a vibrant workplace. As a nod to its Hong Kong roots, each huddle room features custom signage labelled after a traditional dim sum dish. On the whole, livi Bank’s new workplace prioritises connectivity and creativity, helping its people to innovate new banking solutions within a socially engaging environment.
The office allows me to think outside of the box and create timeless designs. Whenever I’m out of ideas, I just walk around the spacious office and look at the playful graphic designs on the wall. They stimulate my thinking while reminding me of the brand’s identity.
