We partnered with global collaboration platform Miro to design its first dedicated office space in Berlin.
The 27,000 sq ft community hub embodies Miro’s ethos of teamwork and play, thoughtfully rooted in the city’s identity.
The office relocation was a chance to boost company pride. Inspired by Berlin’s nonconformist spirit, the space blends the building’s industrial character with Miro’s vibrant and energetic brand. The office design in Berlin fosters a sense of belonging and strengthens team cohesion.
Our approach focuses on understanding Miro’s evolving needs, leveraging insights from the Amsterdam project. Midway through, a company-wide rebrand presented an unexpected challenge, but the design’s deep alignment with Miro’s identity allowed it to evolve effortlessly.
Every space we design supports both our individuals and teams to “create the next best thing”.
Wilco Poppelier, Global Lead - Workplace Strategy and Design at MiroThe layout, designed for up to 120 staff, transitions from lively public areas to quiet, focus-driven zones. Visitors enter an energetic welcome and event space, while focus zones, co-working areas and collaboration spaces support diverse tasks. For moments of recharge, two outdoor terraces and a greenery-filled library provide peaceful retreats.
Miro places a strong emphasis on engaging and connecting with its ‘Mironeers’ when designing spaces worldwide. The primary goal of its office approach is to create an environment where employees feel set up for success and are motivated to be together.
Just a few months after opening, the client has seen a significant increase in office attendance, with the average number of days per Mironeer rising. A post-occupancy survey reports a 63% increase in office attendance.
The office design in Berlin creates an engaging environment that feels like Miro through distinctive colours and bold, playful details – striking a balance between creativity and practicality.
We brought in local artist Vidam to create a 14 metre mural for the multi-purpose event space. The design ties into our concept and captures the Berlin look while also connecting with Miro’s branding.
