We partnered with global sportswear brand On to design and build its new 25,000 sq ft office in London.
On needed a distinctive UK home that attracts local talent, keeps top performers inspired and leaves a lasting impression on every visitor.
Rooted in nature, On’s brand identity shaped the space from the ground up. Working closely with the client design team, we introduced raw, earthy elements balanced by clean, minimal forms—linked to its Swiss heritage.
We introduced materials rarely seen in workplaces to reflect our client’s product innovation in the office design. The ‘rammed earth’ walls create a striking feature, crafted from locally sourced clay plaster and bound without chemicals. Echoing the geological layers of the River Thames Basin, it anchors the space to its surroundings.
The layout encourages exploration. On’s London office features narrow corridors that branch into different routes, guiding people from meeting rooms to communal spaces. At the heart of the space, a tea point enhances the team’s sense of togetherness.
With a clear vision from On’s design team, we collaborated to create a space that embodies our brand ethos and passion for innovation.
John Kuilman, Senior Lead Workplace Design at OnOn’s product showroom is housed on a dedicated floor, where the brand’s newest designs and innovations take centre stage. Curated displays and interactive technology create an engaging setting for client meetings and product demonstrations.
Our sustainability team helped On stay true to its sustainability goals, carefully selecting low-carbon materials like Marmoleum flooring—which absorbs more CO₂ than it emits. We also opted for ethically sourced timber and low-VOC fabrics, each selected based on life cycle analysis.
An energy-saving “kill switch” cuts power after the last person leaves, minimising off-hours consumption. Meanwhile, On’s furniture take-back program repurposes pieces from other sites, reducing waste and maintaining a unified brand experience across offices.
A signature “gem” takes centre stage in each of On’s global offices. In London, a staircase unites the two work levels, while its sculptural, rammed earth finish evokes a cave-like feeling. As you ascend, the clay gradually lightens in colour.
On’s new London office reflects the company’s people-first ethos. Designed to support productivity and collaboration, the space offers diverse workspaces that cater to different needs, whether for focused work or social interaction.
This adaptable space is designed to fuel On’s ambitious regional growth, with a flexible layout that seamlessly adjusts to future demands.
A destination that fuses purpose, brand and culture—On’s Shanghai office.
